Chiropractic Care for Kids!

Chiropractic is often associated with helping reduce back pain, headaches, neck pain, sciatica in adults. While chiropractic is a great tool for adults to utilize to reduce pain, discomfort, improve function and quality of life; it’s also provides great benefits for kids as well! Kids less frequently deal with pain and when they do chiropractic is very effective in providing relief, but chiropractic provides far more benefits beyond relieving pain!

Chiropractic may improve your child’s health, performance in school or on the field, meet milestones and improve developmental delays. This is a wide variety of changes chiropractic could potentially make in your child’s life and the way it does it is through the improvements in nervous system function that result from specific chiropractic adjustments.

Our central nervous system consists of our Brain and spinal cord. It is protected by the vertebra of or spine as well as our skull. Individual segments become misaligned (subluxated) from falls, sports injuries, postural stressors or physical/emotional/chemical stressors and there is a potential that they can cause tension and pressure on the nervous system (nerve roots or spinal cord). This pressure interferes with the nervous system and it’s ability to communicate and send information from the brain to body and vice versa.

With all kids in our office we evaluate the nervous system function with multiple specific scans. This allows us to pinpoint the areas of the spine that are interfering with the function of the nervous system. We also utilize posture evaluation to see how the nervous system is adapting to the physical stressors it encounters daily. All of this information allows us to pinpoint the areas that need to be adjusted to improve the alignment of the spine and the function of the nervous system within.

If your child is struggling with a sports injury or just wants to reach that next level of performance chiropractic may be the key for them. Having good alignment of the spine allows for proper joint function and movement with better range of motion and less tension. Recovery times can improve as well as better performance on the field.

Sometimes your child is struggling with the physical and mental stressors of academics. We have helped many kids in or office reduce the stress and anxiety they experience by improving the function and balance in the nervous system. We have also seen improvements in posture that result from better nervous system function and improved spinal alignment in the neck and back. Our kids spend more time on ipads/tablets/ computers than ever before and it results in increased stress on their bodies posture and spine. Chiropractic is a great tool to use to offset these stressors and maintain better posture and health.

Chiropractic can also be helpful in managing and improving ADHD/ADD, developmental delays, better focus and stimulation issues. We see many of these issues in our office. Parents commonly note the improvements their kids make with nervous system based chiropractic care. It’s all due to improved function and balance with in the nervous system. A nervous system that struggles to communicate in a balanced and regulated manner often will show symptoms of behavior issues, lack of focus, constantly moving, retained primitive reflexes, haven’t met milestones, easily over stimulated and many more. These are your signs to give nervous system based chiropractic a try. A better functioning nervous system from specific chiropractic care may be the key to improving your child’s function and health.

We always tailor care to each child. Care is unique to their needs and we make sure we are being as precise as possible with their care. There are no general cracking and popping adjustments in our office, we instead analyze every visit to determine the specific vertebra that need to be adjusted to provide the body with the greatest ability to heal. Our adjustments are gentle, specific and precise.
